My name is Erwin Peters I was born in Belgium were I still life. From my childhood on I was very interested in the stories that my grandfathers told me. My grandfather on my mother's site served with the RAF. He was wounded by a granate and became a POW. In 1945 he was liberated and went back to the RAF were he was a MP at a prisoner camp in Germany were German POW were held.

My other grandfather was with the resistance in Belgium were he did a lot of sabotage missions in the Ardennes. Butt he never told me details our more than this. Some family of my grandfather moved to the states in 1930 and later and they joined the US Army in several units during WW2.

My father and I served in the Belgian army, I think it's a little bit in our blood. Now I'm doing a lot of stuff with my father to remember the heroes of ww2 who liberated our country more than 60 years ago, and to keep the history alive and kicking. I collect everything from the 101st Airborne Division and almost every week I'm going to a re-enactment event in Belgium, Holland, France or where ever we got to be.

We help also an older couple with a monument in the Ardennes .We are also members of the second armoured Div group in Belgium were my father made his own website for and were all the pictures from the events every week are bin updated, www.ww2vehicles-and-meetings.be for the rest we are helping the vets who visit our country and do a lot of memorials.

We have two original ww2 jeeps and a big collection ww2 items like weapons, uniforms etc etc. This began as a hobby butt it became a part of my life, it's a way of life now a days. When I see the eyes from the veterans and know that they are thankful for our work, it means more for me than win the lottery.

I know Ronald Stassen thanks to this hobby and it's an Honour to help him and his Band of Brothers team with there site. I will hope to do some good things to with this group and help as many vets, family, and people with questions and to keep the history alive.

Herman Wirix, WWII, grootvader / granddad Erwin Peters.

This website is dedicated to all Allied Paratroopers of World War Two. They became a 'Band of Brothers' who enlisted for a new type of warfare. They jumped into occupied Holland on September 17th 1944 like Angels from the Sky. We will honor their heritage.
